Hi,
[E]in floatendes Element erzeugt einen Block formatting context - damit verhält es sich quasi wie ein Block-Element. Ob man jetzt display: block oder display: inline notiert ist dann egal, da du mit der display-Eigenschaft die float-Eigenschaft nicht überschreiben kannst.
