INPUT-Feld mit CSS formatieren

Hallo,

Möchte Input-Feld so formatieren, dass es Verdana als Schrift benutzt. Wenn ich:

INPUT {
 font-family : Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
}

mache, dann sieht das Ergebnis in N4.7 katastrophal aus. Irgendwie stellt N4.7 das ganze nicht richtig dar (siehe Link), indem es das Input-Feld horizontal wahnsinnig gross darstellt, obwohl die Breite des Feldes auf 50 Pixel reduziert ist.

Wie formatiere ich also das Input-Feld mit CSS korrekt, damit es in N4 auch richtig dargestellt wird?

Ich hoffe, es kann mir jemand behilflich sein. Vielen Dank schon mal im Voraus!
