Stylesheetinformation per JS ändern -> Probleme mit IE

ist es dann zulässig
[code lang=html]<div class="expand" id="expand" style="display: none ">&nbsp;</div>[/html]
zu schreiben? Jedenfalls will mich der Validator dafür nicht verhaun. :-)
