Hello out there!
Wie ist wohl die richtige Abkürzung für Lateinishc?
"la" oder "lat".
Erste ja, zweite nein.
“For languages that have both an ISO 639-1 two-character codeand an ISO 639-2 three-character code, only the ISO 639-1 two-character code is defined in the IANA registry.” [RFC4646]
“Because RFC 3066 didn't provide a list of valid subtags and just referred users to ISO 639, there was sometimes confusion about how to tag languages when the ISO code lists contained both two-letter and three-letter codes (and sometimes more than one three-letter code). Now all valid subtags are listed in a single IANA registry, which adopts only one value from the ISO lists per language. If a two-letter ISO code is available, this will be the one in the registry. Otherwise the registry will contain one three-letter code.” [LANGUAGE-TAGS]
Das war aber auch schon zu Zeiten, als RFC 3066 noch nicht obsolet war, so:
“When a language has both an ISO 639-1 2-character code and an ISO 639-2 3-character code, you MUST use the tag derived from the ISO 639-1 2-character code.” [RFC3066]
See ya up the road,
Gunnar
