.htaccess: Fehler bei Options +MultiViews

Hi,

habe ein Problem mit meiner .htaccess Datei auf dem Server. Ich will mit ihr erreichen, dass man nicht immer /index.php eingegen muss, sondern nur /index:

Options +MultiViews

Meine Seite meldet dann aber immer nur diese grässliche Fehlermeldung:

An was liegt das? Gibt es noch andere möglichkeiten als "Options +MultiViews"?
