Wenn ich das Statement ohne IF schreiben würde, bekomme ich kein Resultat, wenn "optionales_feld_1" keinen Wert hat.
Wieso verknüpfst du nicht einfach disjunktiv (OR) eine Abfrage, ob das Feld leer ist?
