a + b = a * b | -b a = a * b - b | b ausklammern a = (a - 1) * b | teilen durch (a - 1) (natürlich nur für a ≠ 1) a / (a - 1) = b
Das geht auch in LaTeX:

a + b &= a \cdot b &\quad& | - b
a &= a \cdot b - b
a &= \left( a - 1 \right) \cdot b && | : \left( a - 1 \right)
\frac{a}{a - 1} &= b
