Probleme Data in Date-Bank zu einsetzen

ich habe versucht so ,

$this->getConnection();
      {

und …

$Newobject = new ClassProveContakt3();
$Newobject -> ShowForm();
$Newobject ->  PostOkT(); 
$Newobject -> this-> getConnection();

aber bekomme diese warnung,

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '$this' (T_VARIABLE), expecting function (T_FUNCTION) or const (T_CONST) in /var/www/html/classprove.php on line 155
