Zum alt-Attribut: Ich verwende es ja auch wo ich es für Sinnvoll halte, aber manchmal zweifle ich den Sinn halt an. Wenn bspw. ein Artikel schon heißt "Usain Bolt gewinnt das 100m Finale" dann liefert der alt-Text auch keine zusätzliche Information. Wenn er heißt "Bericht von den Olympischen Spielen", dann selbstverständlich ja. In meinem Fall ist es oft so, dass das Bild das zeigt, was im entsprechenden Absatz oder Kapitel beschrieben wird und da ist das alt-Attribut doppelt gemoppelt. "Don't repeat yourself" kenne ich von anderer Stelle.

DRY wird auch von WAVE angemahnt. Letztens mal Seiten gecheckt und prompt dies erhalten:

How to Fix It

Change either the alternative text or the adjacent text to eliminate the redundancy. In most cases, you can give the image empty/null alternative text (alt="") because the content of the image is already provided in context through text. Linked images may often be combined with the adjacent text into one link, in which case the image may be given null/empty alternative text (alt="").
