Hallo Forum!

An important overview of the Internet from the US Internet Council today says governments should adop a hands-off policy. It says the Internet has grown phenomenally - it took 38 years for the telephone to penetrate 30% of US households, 17 years for television to reach that level, PCs 13 years, and the Internet under 7 years. In 1993, 90,000 Americans had access compared to 81 million now. In 1995 there were 5.8 million Net hosts worldwide, now there are 43.2 million. AOL's daily email traffic rose from 28 million in February 1998 to 51 million in February 1999. Iconocast forecasts global email traffic as reaching 7 trillion in 2000. And so on.
