Tabellen + background + width=100%

Wenn ich eine Tabelle mit width=100% mit einer Hintergrundgrafik versehe
... was an sich ja schon _nicht-machbar_ ist, da <table width="100%"> theoretisch nicht korrekt ist

warum sollte das nicht korrekt sein?
table hat kein height-attribut, width aber m.W. sehr wohl.
und 100% ist in html eine gültige breitenangabe.

btw: muss deine signatur so lang sein ...?
