Kommentare in CSS file mit * - oder was?

also hier die css-angaben:

.links-versteckt h1 { margin:0; }

ich würde allerdings interessieren, was die * vor bestimmten Zeilen bewirken. Sollen das Kommentare sein?
Kann jemand dazu näheres erklären?
