Ist als URI "localhost" zwischengeschaltet, erkennt
firefox nicht, das es sich um ein .xpi file handelt.
mit welchem content type liefert denn dein lokalhost die
.xpi-dateien aus?
Der Typ sollte auf application/x-xpinstall gestellt werden,
dann klappts auch mit Localhost.
