Fragen zum (richtigen) zitieren mit HTML

daher ist es mir unklar, ob <blockquote> bereits ein Zitat einleitet, oder dieses erst mit <q>(quote) noch ausgezeichnet werden muss.

Das w3c selber bebeispielt es so:

Blockquote, darin in Absätzen das Zitat.
Ein zusätzliches q hierdrin halte ich für absolut nicht erforderlich.
