was tut denn submit()? Ist das deine Funktion oder die Standardmethode des Formulars?
Ansonsten gilt generell: Ich meine zwar, es sollte auch so lösbar sein, wie es im Moment angedacht ist, aber im Zweifelsfall kannst du den/die bisherigen Parameter auch in Hidden-Feldern im Formular ablegen.
