ich arbeite momentan mit win2k.

Und was für ein Paket ist darauf installiert?
Hast Du es XAMPP oder eine Installation für den Produktiveinsatz?

Wenn es XAMPP ist, schau mal unter

C:\Programme\xampp\apache\conf\httpd.conf

bei mir ab Zeile 234:

DirectoryIndex: sets the file that Apache will serve if a directory

is requested.

    DirectoryIndex index.php index.php4 index.php3 index.cgi index.pl index.html index.htm index.shtml index.phtml
</IfModule>
