Wieso wird der Fehler unter Windows nicht erkannt?
Weil du dort das error_reporting schwächer eingestellt oder vielleicht gar display_errors auf off hattest - so dass PHP dich nicht darauf hinweisen konnte, dass du Variablen ansprichst, die es im Zweifelsfalle gar nicht gibt.
