Und ich bin mir nicht sicher ob das ein Missbrauch ist, aber dir Verwendung von 1-Pixel-Bildern ist meistens sinnarm, du kannst ebenso einfach die Hintergrundfarbe der Zelle ändern.
Außerdem könnte es sein, dass die <h2>-Elemente hier ebenfalls nicht angebracht sind sondern entweder nichts (also nur <td>) oder ggf. <th>. Lässt sich aus dem Code ohne die Inhalte nur schwerlich erraten, das musst du dann selber wissen :)
