[Bei MathML] ist aber die Lernkurve sehr steil. Vom Schreiben von Formeln direkt in MathML würde ich abraten. Einen Formeleditor verwenden, der MathML ausgibt, wie ThomasM sagte – kann man machen.
Man kann auch LaTeX als Formeleditor verwenden. Da ist immer noch eine Lernkurve, aber die ist nicht so steil wie die bei MathML.
So wie es auch hier im Forum verwendet werden kann: aus
\frac{1}{2} + \frac{2}{3} - \frac{3}{4} - \frac{1}{6}
wird
$$\frac{1}{2} + \frac{2}{3} - \frac{3}{4} - \frac{1}{6}$$
