Charset -> UTF oder ISO angeben?

Hallo!

Welches ist richtig,
ISO oder UTF ?

In Selfhtml und an vielen anderen Orten im Web steht die
Variante mit ISO,
auf http://www.w3.org/International/O-charset.html  steht aber wieder nur UTF.

1. <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" >
   oder
2. <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">
