Ich korrigiere: Es geht ja doch auch mit mehreren numerischen Anaben:
border-spacing:20px 5px;

... halt nur nicht im IE, da überhaupt nicht.

Ich korrigiere: Aber sicher doch: mit 'padding' ('padding-top', ...).
