Hi,
ich glaube es liegt daran, dass du noch kein udev installiert hast, und/oder dekativiere mal im Kernel unter "File Systems->Automatically mount at boot".
Dann kompiliere ihn nochmal neu und starte nochmal.
Ich hatte dasselbe Problem (eines unter mehreren nach einer Gentoo Neuinstallation) und ich glaube es lag daran.
