Nachteile Tabellenlayout

anscheinend geht das Thema gerade in den einschlägigen Weblogs rund, jetzt hat auch Zengarden-Guru Dave Shea sich geäußert:

Interessanterweise bezieht er sich wieder auf Andy, der "Inner Circle" ist doch ziemlich klein ;-)

Besonders interessant finde ich den Absatz über den semantischen Vergleich divs/tds weiter unten, in Bezug auf ein mehrspaltiges Layout:

But if tabular data is structurally tabular, then what inherently (besides a fear of the past) makes a two- or three-column layout structurally non-tabular? Ein mehrspaltiges Layout als eine Art Tabellenstruktur zu sehen, finde ich ziemlich interessant, zumal dann eine Tabelle sogar sinnvoller wäre als ein semantisch sinnfreies <div>.
